The Hampton Roads Chapter of the Society of Allied Weight Engineers (SAWE) is proud to nominate Mr. Ian O. MacConochie (Mac), SAWE Honorary Fellow, for Peninsula Engineers Council (PEC) Engineer of the Year 2004. Mr. MacConochie's career represents a life dedicated to professional and community service, a life stimulated by the myriad of problem solutions that technical knowledge and engineering development provide. Mac has used his talents to solve some everyday problems, and some not so everyday problems, in his professional field as a NASA aerospace engineer. While currently officially "retired" from formal engineering employment, Mac continues to seek ways in which his engineering skills and broad technical knowledge can make life better for the rest of us.
