63rd International SAWE Conference 2004

The 63rd International Conference in Newport Beach, California, was a highly interesting and varied technical program. Technical content is both the hallmark and lifeblood of our Society, and the annual international conference is where the depth and breadth of our profession is put on display for all to see. This was our first conference since instituting the position of Technical Chairman, ably overseen by Bob Baum, who helped find us new session chairmen, vendors, and speakers as well as technical papers. Thanks to the efforts of Bob and our Technical Committee, we had 21 papers and six technical presentations represented at this year's conference. Of those, 18 papers made it onto the CD that was given to attendees, along with a sizable amount of vendor data and society documentation. A 19th paper that did not receive presentation approval until the start of the conference was added to the later CDs that went to company members.
