69th International SAWE Conference 2010 Technical Tracks

We had 19 industry papers, 1 student paper, and 2 presentations. Even though the current environment continues to challenge our paper count, we must remember that quality is more important than quantity and our papers this year definitely received high marks in quality. Bestowing the Mike Hackney "Best Paper" Award is an awesome responsibility taken very seriously by the technical committee. It is with great pleasure that I get to announce that the 2010 Winner of the Mike Hackney Best Paper Award goes to Paper 3501, "Simulation-based Transitional Stability Criteria for Submarines" by David Tellet, Naval Sea Systems Command. It has been several years since we have awarded a paper the special merit award, but this year I am pleased to announce that Paper 3490, "Automotive Mass Properties Estimation," by Brian Weigand is the recipient.
