Missiles and Space Systems Government/Industry Workshop

The Space and Missile Workshop, within the Standards and Practices Committee, provides several functions to the Society, its members, and industry. The workshop gives the opportunity and venue for mass properties engineers in industry and government, commercial, or other customers to interact. This year we were pleased to have government and civil space customer participation. We also welcome Amanda Cutright as the workshop co-chair. The workshop also has the responsibility of developing and maintaining Industry Standards and Recommended Practices (RPs) for missile and space products and developing training to support those in the mass properties engineering field. The Space and Missiles workshop is responsible for the maintenance of SAWE Recommended Practices Number 6, 9,10,11, and 16. This year, we will be reviewing those five current practices to determine if updates or modifications are needed and to consider if elements of the practice, or if the practice as a whole, should become an industry standard.
