Olympic Flame and Royal visit kick off Falkirk Wheel 10 celebrations

The Falkirk Wheel was a focus of festivities in the run-up to its 10th anniversary celebrations in July. The Olympic Flame arrived with much hoopla and excitement on 13th June. The Princess Royal visited the Wheel on 6th July to launch 'Wheel 10', the anniversary celebrations marking a decade since it was opened. During her visit she also officially named Scotland's first floating classroom, Wooden Spoon Seagutt, and unveiled 'Blossom! a commemorative artwork designed by schools within the seven local authority areas along the Millennium Link.
