Beyond the increasing creativity of watershape designs, another issue that is pulling the watershaping industry back into the fold of the greater concrete industry is a growing set of discussions about permeability and the level to which pneumatically applied concrete - whether gunite or shotcrete - should or can be classed as permeable, slightly permeable or impermeable.rnWe can all accept the thought that pools, spas, fountains and other bodies of recreational and decorative water should be able to contain water. What many people also accept -erroneously - is that pneumatically placed concrete is, by nature, permeable. That is so only in an environment in which substandard application practices are acceptable.
