Murray too acidic for life

A CSIRO report on sustainable water yields in part of the river Murray has added to the gloomy prognosis painted by recent revelations that stretches of the river are so acidic that no life can exist there.The report on the Ovens catchment in Victoria, a key source of water for the river, predicts that by 2030 there will be a 13% drop in flows, equating to 231 billion litres of water less per year for the basin.
