Water Convention - a key contribution

There are many different elements to SIWW, but IWA's primary contribution, in addition to providing guidance as part of the organizing committee, is in jointly delivering the highly-popular Water Convention. IWA's co-chair for the convention, Darryl Day, General Manager Remote Operations for the Power and Water Corporation in Australia, sees the convention has played a large part in the success of Singapore InternationalWater Week.'It is an event that has really focused on being about relevant planning and practice for the region,' he explains. Mr Day notes that as the water sector touches so many sectors -technology, the environment, public health, governance and finance - the convention has grown in size and stature each year. The quality of the presentations delivered and the attendees is high because of this strong focus on relevance to the region, he believes.
