HELCOM addresses threats to Baltic Sea salmon and trout

HELCOM (the Helsinki Commission for protection of the Baltic marine environment) has presented its overview report on the SALAR project for the protection of the threatened and seriously depleted salmon and sea trout populations in the many rivers flowing into this major European sea. The report is based on an inventory and classification of the relevant populations and makes recommendations for their conservation, including restoration of their river habitats.
