Wastewater treatment upgrade for Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago's Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has won two loans from the Inter-American Development Bank that will fund a TT$1.2 billion ($189 million) investment in rehabilitating the islands' wastewater treatment plants and constructing three new facilities. The islands have over 300 wastewater treatment plants, but WASA head of wastewater projects Denise Lee Sing-Perreira says 'quite a few' were not working properly and would be decommissioned.
