Armenia receives loans for water and wastewater upgrades

The European Investment Bank is providing two loans worth a total of €30.7 million ($41.3 million) to finance improvements to the quality and reliability of water supply services and to upgrade waste-water treatment in Armenia. The funds will help to improve the living standards of the Armenian people and contribute to accelerating the social and economic development of the country. The EIB loans will consist of €25.5 million ($34.3 million) for rehabilitating and constructing water and sewage infrastructure in Armenia's secondary cities and small communities, and €5.2 million ($7 million) for upgrading water supply infrastructure in chosen areas of Armenia's capital Yerevan and surrounding villages.
