Tunisia water projectsupplies water tothousands

Tens of thousands of people living in Tunisia's Guerdane and Remada regions have accessto clean drinking water following completion of an International Committee of the Red Cross Joint project with the national water board.A flood of refugees and migrants from Libya during 2011 puthuge pressureson scarce water resources. The project involved laying a 6.6km transmission lineand replacement/extension of 3km of pipe to connect existing wells to Remada's main reservoir, equipped with an automatic disinfection System. The target Population is 15,000 and the new network will help meet rising peak demand.
