Cosman remembered as colorful character,leader at Republic

Former Republic Services Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer James H. "Jim" Cosman Sr. passed away earlier this month after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 69. Cosman died in his sleep in his Roswell, Ga., home Jan. 7. Cosman, who was quick with a smile, left Republic Services in 2000 when he said he wanted to spend more time with his family. It was a couple of years later that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
