Seven infrastructure projects will receive almost $18 million in grant funding to divert waste from landfill and increase recycling across New South Wales. The Major Resource Recovery Infrastructure grants will divert over 660,000 tonnes of waste from landfill each year that the project runs. The funding is part of the State Government's $465.7 million Waste Less, Recycle More initiative. NSW Environment Minister, Mark Speakman, said the grants would increase the capacity for waste and recycling, and create around 180 jobs in the recycling sector.
