Companies Act not Breached by Telcos

Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been informed that telcos have not breached the provisions of the Companies Act embroiled in the 2G scam by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The 12 companies named by the MCA include Unitech, Videocon Telecommunications, Loop Telecom, Etisalat DB, STel, Tata Teleservices, Virgin Mobile, Idea Cellular and Sistema Shyam. ED is investigating these companies under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in relation to the 2G spectrum scam.
