Round Table - community service through friendship!

When IST won R30 000 at the 2004 Eskom ETA Award it was decided to donate this sum to Round Table no. 136 of Pretoria of which I am a member. The money was spent on a Christmas party for the children at the Nellmapius Children's Home in Centurion. The home is for children in foster care and includes about 100 children ranging in age from a few months up to 18 years. Centurion Children's Welfare, which falls under Pretoria welfare, supports about 150 children in the Centurion area. Most of these children suffered abuse or neglect. The organisation operates from residential premises that house a small group of social workers and caretakers.
