Recall of fluorescent luminaires

Rabro & Sturdy Products, a large local manufacturer of fluorescent luminaires in South Africa, is attempting to recall an estimated 120 000 fittings manufactured by the company over the past seven months, and distributed through electrical wholesalers, building and retail outlets in South Africa. This follows a visit by Gert Brink of SABS Certification to Rabro & Sturdy on 25 April 2005, during which a numberof instructions were issued to the company to rectify identified non-compliances with the conditions of the SABS Mark Scheme.
