NORWEGIAN contracting giant Aker Solutions has reported a significant increase in its order intake, which was boosted by an ongoing diversification into energy transition as well as an improvement in traditional oil and gas revenue.The company reported earnings before interest and tax, depreciation and amortisation of Nkr392 million ($44 million).New orders worth Nkrl2.2 billion pushed the company's secured backlog almost 30% higher than in the same period last year.Aker Solutions' revenues of Nkr7 billion were 4% up on the first quarter of 2020.New contracts secured in the quarter included the big subsea gas compression award for Jansz-Io from Chevron in Australia.Aker Solutions also reported an increased order intake from energy transition-related work, which accounted for about 60% of new contracts in the quarter."We are on track for further profitable growth and transformation," said chief executive Kjetel Digre.
