Hess eyes Stabroek growth

OPERATIONS offshore Guyana and in the US Gulf of Mexico will play key roles in Hess' strategy for the foreseeable as they compete for capital at the US independent. Speaking at the virtual Scotia Howard Weil's annual energy conference this week, chief executive John Hess said that the deep-water US Gulf, along with the domestic Bakken shale play of North Dakota, serve as "cash engines" for the company, while Guyana is the "growth engine".
