CRUDE futures succumbed to selling pressure on Wednesday as rising tensions between the US and China over police crackdowns on protesters in Hong Kong outweighed optimism over prospects of further Opec+ action to rein in supplies to ensure stable prices. Oil had made strong gains earlier in the week as Russia signalled it would urge Opec and allied producers to continue with stringent supply cuts beyond June.
