Spudding plans off Australia

MALAYSIAN operator Sapu-raOMV Upstream is sticking to its exploration plans in Australia where it is about to spud its maiden offshore exploration well while remaining in the market for a large rig for a potential exploration well next year. The Malaysian-Austrian operator has contracted the jack-up drilling rig Valaris 107 between May 2020 and June 2020 for a one-well assignment off Western Australia. That well is the Eagle-l gas condensate wildcat in Block TP/25, which SapuraOMV owns in joint venture with Australian company Finder Energy.
