摘要

UK contractor Petrofac has been hired by the New Zealand government to formulate a plan of action for the abandoned Tui offshore oilfield where a floating production vessel owned by Norway's BW Offshore is marooned. Production at the Tui field last November ended abruptly as a result of the field operator - Tamarind Taranaki, a subsidiary of Malaysia's Tamarind Resources - becoming financially insolvent. BW Offshore ever since then, without success, has been trying to demobilise its Umuroa floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
