US shale gas giant EQT has temporarily curtailed some volumes and expects second-quarter production to be reduced as commodity prices remain low. The Appalachian basin-focused producer said this week it began curtailing around 1.4 billion cubic feet per day of gross production, or about 1 Bcfd of net production, on 16 May. The aim is to monetise the deferred production at a higher forward commodity price, it said.
