India's Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has awarded Shelf Drilling a contract for one of the latter's jack-up rigs to work off the country's west coast. The three-year deal is set to begin in the first quarter when the unit will be deployed in the Mumbai High area. Middle East-based driller Shelf did not reveal the contract value, but Upstream reported earlier this month that the company was in line to win a three-year deal from ONGC for the Trident Ⅱ after it offered a dayrate of $40,000.
