US President Donald Trump has designated Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist army, drawing anger from Tehran, which retaliated by declaring US forces in the Middle East as a terrorist organisation, writes Nassir Shirkhani. It is the first time the US has labelled another nation's military as a terrorist organisation. Tensions between the US and Iran have risen since Trump withdrew from the 2015 international Iran nuclear pact and imposed sanctions that have decimated Iran's oil exports.
