Magazines are like children. When you have a bad one, people you don't know go out of their way to tell you about your problems. Nobody really understands all the labor and love that goes into making that great child. Editors, unlike parents, have a ready-made forum in which to speak about their progeny, so, once in a while you'll see a column like this in which we talk about all of the investments we make in our magazine.
