RE2 Inc. will develop a two-arm Highly-Dexterous Manipulation System (HDMS) for the U.S. Army's Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center. The arms will be attached to robotic systems used for explosive ordnance disposal. The company says the goal of the dual-arm HDMS is to provide the robot operator with capabilities that exceed those of the single-manipulator robots currently in use.
