The relationship between the West and Iran is changing, whether or not the U.S. part of the Iran nuclear deal is approved. The issue is whether Iran will be able to develop the nuclear weapons it has sought for many years, and the question that has been raised is whether the guarantees in the agreement will preclude further Iranian bomb development. Another factor at play is active Iranian support for various regional terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and for the current government of Syria.
