$425 Million Cheyenne Plains Project: On Time & Under Budget

Cheyenne Plains Gas Pipeline Co., a sub-sidiary of El Paso, is building a large-diameter pipeline that will carry natural gas from the prolific production basins in the Rocky Mountains to Mid-Continent Scheduled to become operational in 2005, the 380-mile, $425 million pipeline is being built by two Houston-based contractors - Associated Pipe Line Construction Inc. and U.S. Pipeline Inc. Within a few months, the project is near-ing the testing and commissioning phase. Once completed, the 36-inch diameter pipeline will extend from El Paso's compressor station in Carr, CO, to Greensburg, KS, where it will interconnect with other Midwest pipelines including Northern Natural Gas, ANR, Panhandle Eastern, Williams, Natural Gas Pipeline Co. and Mid-Continent Market Center.
