VOSA has launched a consultation on proposals to change its fees for statutory services, including: HGV and PSV testing; operator licensing; vehicle approval and certification; identity checks; and tacho approvals. According to VOSA chief executive Alastair Peoples, the changes aim to improve fairness by: removing the subsidy of VOSA test costs from ATF (Authorised Testing Facilities) users; and charging ATF users for VOSA resources to service ATFs. They are also intended to meet the extra costs of running the EUwide national registers of operators and their transport managers, and monitoring those committing serious infringements.
