Arla Foods trials new trailer technology

Arla Foods is Mailing technology from Carrier Transicold that saves diesel and cuts carbon emissions by using power from the refrigeration unit to collect raw milk into its bespoke combination trailer-tanker. The food giant's specialist tri-axle trailer - half refrigerated body, half milk-collection tanker - has been modified by Carrier Transicold. Using this power source to drive the pump motors eliminates the need for a tractor unit PTO (power take-off), the associated hydraulics and Suzi boom, and has reduced weight by 250kg.
