EC finalises LCV emissions

The European Council has adopted rules that define how the 2020 target for reductions of CO_2 emissions from new light commercial vehicles should be reached. From 2020, a target of 147g CO_2/km has been set for average emissions for LCVs registered in the EU. The regulation will apply to all manufacturers producing more than 1,000 new LCVs registered in the EU in the previous calendar year. CO_2 savings can be achieved through innovative technology or a combination of technologies. The total contribution of these may be up to 7g CO_2/km.
