Second, Google doesn't offer "NEAR" as a search operator. In fact, this operator isn't available from any commercial Web search engine. AltaVista used to support it as a proximity operator but no longer does. [Editor's note: We meant to say that NEAR is used by many search engines within the enterprise.]
