Design Of An Articulated Tug and Barge (AT/B) To Shuttle Crude Oil On The Bohai Gulf, China

摘要

The paper describes the design of an articulated tug and barge (AT/B) to shuttle crude oil from a platform in the Bohai Gulf of China to a receiving terminal at the Port of Tanggu, China, a distance of approximately 33 nautical miles. An Articouple system of connecting the tug and barge was selected to provide a large part of the operation in the push mode. A 21,000 BBL tank barge making a daily round trip from the platform to the terminal along with a 3500 HP, twin screw tug is described. The vessels are of shallow draft and ice classed.
