摘要

A new system has dramatically reduced the time and labour required to install optical cables through a conduit. Using a spiral airflow, the system makes it possible to blow optical cables in one simple step, eliminating the need to blow a lead and pulling-rope, and pull back a loop. The system can propel a 21 mm-diameter optical cable weighing 420g/m over a maximum installation distance of 250m, requiring manholes to be placed every 250m. Consisting of a special device with an annular slit attached to a conicall cylinder And a parachute, it uses spiral airflow to drive the parachute through the Conduit, pulling the optical cables behind it. This high performance is achieved By the ordered structure of the spiral airflow and the Coanda effect.
