摘要

Dredged mud transportation for seaside airport construction usually demands an efficient technique for soil removal and minimum environmental impact. For this purpose, a new pneumatic transportation system has been developed to meet these requirements by using a spiral nozzle which can generate spiral flows. The system minimizes the pressure drop to 70 /100 in a pipeline, and the spiral nozzle operation space on the ground surface is reduced to about two-thirds compared to a conventional system. Features of the air-sand two-phase spiral flow in the pneumatic transportation system were investigated by visualizing the flow and measuring pressure drops.
