摘要

In order to investigate the influence of nozzle inner structure on the generation of pulsed high speed liquid jets, a rectangular shaped nozzle assembling was designed and applied in the experiment. The jets were generated by the impact of a projectile on a rectangular metal piston which was inserted in the nozzle. The pressure variation in the nozzle was measured using a Kistler transducer and the internal fluid flow and jet shape were visualized by strobe lighting photography. This experimental method showed the advantages in that the nozzle inner structure could be easily changed while a flow visualization in the nozzle could be conducted.
