摘要

The purpose of the work is to develop a neutron monitoring system using a filed programmable gate array (FPGA) for the Tsing Hua Open-Pool reactor (THOR). The neutron signal is processed based on the Campbell theorem, [1] which improves the gamma discrimination capability of neutron measurements for reactor power monitoring applications. Figures 1 is the block diagram of Campbell channel in THOR. The current signal from fission chamber is pre processed through a preamplifier and fed into gain stages for different power range. The Campbell circuit which is composed of a band-pass filter, a RMS circuit, and a low pass filter. The output of the Campbell circuit is then sent to a data processor for power and reactor period evaluations.
