Austenitic Oxide-dispersion-strengthened (ODS) stainless steels are being developed, which are promising materials for Generation Ⅳ fission energy systems such as the very high temperature reactor (VHTR).In these materials, dispersions of Y-Ti-O-based nanoparticles (< 10 nm) lead to improved resistance to irradiation damage and creep at elevated temperatures.
