LERY: FLORIDA PASSENGER TRAINS

Florida East Coast's northbound Gulf Stream, train No. 6, pulls out of Fort Pierce, Fla., on its way to Jacksonville. The matched FEC E units made for quite a sight cutting through the city. Fraser Hale The northbound Tampa section of the Seaboard Air Line's Silver Meteor pauses at Plant City in summer 1962. in Florida, the train saw sections operating from St. Petersburg and Venice (combined in Tampa) and Miami. Three photos, Ralph W. Bostian Atlantic Coast Line's Sarasota local waits at Tampa Union Station in the early 1960s with cars from Louisville & Nashville, Florida East Coast, and, of course, ACL. Note the second ACL locomotive partially obscured by the train. The northbound Miami section of the Silver Meteor brakes through Winter Haven in July 1964 with three E units in charge. The train operated through to New York City over Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac and Pennsylvania trackage.
