The development and validation of the Civilian Leader Improvement Battery (CLIMB): a web-based leader-assessment tool

In June 2010 the US Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee moved forward with the 2009 Federal Supervisor Training Act designed to improve the training of federal managers. The Act proposes to train supervisors on a range of common managerial issues. This effort marks one of the first legislative initiatives to propose standardized supervisory training to the approximately 270,000 civilian supervisors in the US federal government (US Merit Systems Protection Board, 2009).
