NATIONAL DRT PORTAL PLAN

A separate plan for a national DRT/flexible transport portal drew attention at a 21 October seminar in Edinburgh of the ITS UK Passenger Information Interest Group. Dr James Cooper, Head of the Taxi Studies Group at Edinburgh Napier University's Transport Research Institute (coordinating partner), and Jeff Duffell, Managing Director of automated scheduling specialist Mobisoft UK (technology lead), outlined a proposed trial with Transport Strategy Board funding. This could involve existing DRT providers, rural transport schemes or taxi companies.
