OCIT~? - Standard communication interface for systems of traffic light control in Germany

Traffic control systems in Germany have undergone a similar path to that followed in the UK through the UTMC initiative in terms of enabling a more competitive mutli-vendor environment to emerge.rnThis paper describes how a group of German-based but internationally active manufacturers have worked together with operators and the Federal Highway Research Institute in Germany tornproduce OCIT (Open Communication Interface for Road Traffic Control Systems). By the beginning of 2010 twenty-one European manufacturers had bought licences for OCIT-Outstations.
