Sustainable travel 'failings' in UK claim campaign group Transport minister, Norman Baker, has defended the UK government's record on sustainable transport in light of new analysis that suggested councils were failing to implement smarter travel choices.The analysis, by Halcrow, on behalf of campaign groups Sustrans and Friends of the Earth looked into councils Local Transport Plans to find that only a small proportion of the £6bn allocated funding would go on promoting cycling, walking and j car sharing.
