Report charts fears of road safety professionals that budget cuts will impact on safety targets

In the weeks leading up to the launch of the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety, PACTS and the RAC Foundation released a report, Tackling the Deficit, where next for rad safety?which presented updates rom around the road safety sector in the UK at the close of 2010. The eport found a pessimistic mood among many representatives of the oad safety sector. However, it notes that the research was conducted at a difficult time, soon after the Local Government Finance Settlement 2011/2 and that, even then, both enthusiasm and ideas for moving forward were in evidence.
