European and US ITS figures highlight growth

News that the public transport sector ITS market in Europe is expected to reach EURO1.3 billion by 2015 will be met with a collective sigh of relief in the industry after years of uncertainty because of the economic downturn, not just in Europe but throughout the world. While cuts are still expected to affect the public sector throughout Europe with local authorities taking the biggest hit, growth in the ITS sector looks set to continue in the future, largely due to the de-regulation of public transport. According to new research by analyst Berg Insight, the market is growing at a compound rate of 15% a year with INIT, Trapeze ITS and IVU among the leading companies in Europe.
