It is widely accepted that there is a trend of shoppers moving away from grocery shopping at Large out-of-town supermarkets towards regular trips to more local stores. The consequence of this changing consumer behaviour is a growing number of deliveries being made by commercial vehicles in urban areas, which require complex logistics planning due to a host of access and restriction issues.
