First Global Tax Stamp Forum To Focus On Raising Revenues From Tobacco And Alcohol

Plans have been made to organize the first international meeting to focus on the use of excise stamps for tobacco and alcohol. The forum, called the "Tax Stamp Forum," has been scheduled for February of 2009, and will focus on excise evasion and protection fraud in the context of facing manufacturers, governments, law enforcement agencies, and other organizations. Specific topics to be covered include: tax stamp regimes, factors driving proliferation thereof, and factors which determine the success of said regimes; formats and methods of stamp production, application, and distribution; and current, as well as future, technical developments.
