I created an organization designed to change the culture of America. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) encourages kids to get excited about thinking, inventing, solving problems and making the world a better place. In the process, we've introduced thousands of students to new heroes and role models in the fields of science, engineering and technology. This interaction has given youngsters valuable firsthand knowledge and experience. By solving problems and exchanging ideas with enthusiastic professionals, students gain self-confidence, a base of scientific knowledge and the realization that exciting, attainable career options exist outside the realms of sports and entertainment.
