Visiting the dentist isn't a joy, but there's a fresh reason to be wary of the doctor's "Open wide." Dentists use X-rays to detect cavities and misalignments, but a study showed that patients diagnosed with meningiomas, brain tumors that are typically benign and noncancerous, were twice as likely as a group of tumor-free people to have had at least one dental X-ray.
